September 14, 2005 MIZKAN ACQUIRES LEADING CHINESE BRANDED FOOD MANUFACTURING COMPANY The Mizkan Group, a leading worldwide food manufacturing business based in Japan, USA, UK, Thailand & Singapore; today announces the acquisition of Wadakan (Hong Kong) Investment Holding Company Ltd. Based in Beijing, Wadakan manufactures a range of products including soy sauce & vinegars. This will enable the Mizkan Group to expand into the buoyant Chinese market and generate synergies in branding and product range. With this acquisition, Mizkan has acquired the majority shareholdings for Beijing Wadakan Food Co Ltd, Beijing Longman Wadakan Food Co Ltd & Beijing Hawing Wadakan Food Co Ltd. The three companies produce products under the Wadakan brand name. The current chairman Shen Zheng Xie will continue to oversee these companies within the existing management structure. The Mizkan Group specialises in the manufacture of food products & meal accompaniment such as vinegars, dressings, condiments & other ingredients.
