Our full-scale business in the US started with acquisition of the vinegar manufacturer American Industry in 1981. We integrated all US operations into a local business entity in 1996, which currently operates as Mizkan America, Inc. (head office locates in Mt. Prospect, Illinois). It owns 17 plants nationwide and its sales network spreads across the country. The company manufactures and sells various seasoning products such as vinegars, mustards, cooking wines, Asian sauces and salad dressings. The NAKANO brand of seasoned rice vinegar has been popular among American households as a way to bring out the taste of dishes.
With the acquisition of well-established US brands such as Holland House in 2005, the largestselling brand of cooking wine, and World Harbors, a nationwide distributor of marinades and BBQ sauces, in 2010, Mizkan America has been expanding its business by adding to their legacy. In May 2011, the company succeeded in entering the Hispanic food market, marking its first entry into a non-vinegar market, through the acquisition of the Border Foods brand.In June 2014, Mizkan acquired Americafs best-selling pasta-sauce brand, RAGU, and leading premium pasta-sauce brand, Bertolli. Both brands are well-established, household names in the United States.
Our aim is to accelerate our global growth by constantly proposing new products and recipes to grow all our US brands, just as we do in Japan.
